Pine Creek Golf Club
Pine Creek Golf Club in Purvis, Mississippi, offers a straightforward 18-hole public course defined by rolling terrain and fast, domed greens. Ideal for golfers seeking an affordable, no-frills challenge, the course balances natural undulations with approachable playability in a peaceful woodland setting.
Course Overview
Pine Creek Golf Club offers an 18-hole public golf experience rooted in the natural hills and woodlands of Purvis, Mississippi. The course presents a straightforward layout that blends modest elevation changes with rolling fairways and fast, domed greens, challenging players to sharpen their short games and putting strokes. This is a course where course management and precision off the tee often trump distance, making it approachable for beginners while still demanding respect from more experienced players.
The terrain is gently undulating, and the fairways vary from generous to moderately narrow, with tree lines framing select holes. Some greens reveal sandy patches that test the adaptability of your putting, a trait uncommon in many courses but part of Pine Creek’s distinct character. Golfers should be prepared for fairways that occasionally slope and greens that can break sharply, especially when winds stir the pines and oaks that border the holes.
Pine Creek’s modest elevation changes offer variety without overwhelming walkers. The club enforces a strict cart path only rule which preserves the course’s playing surfaces but may slow pace on busy days. The presence of natural hazards, combined with occasional hard tee surfaces, creates a playing field that rewards patience and strategy over brute force.
The clubhouse serves as a hub for players with an ATM on site and a staff known for friendliness and accommodating those arriving without reservations. Its casual atmosphere invites relaxed rounds for families and local golfers who appreciate value without sacrificing the integrity of their golf round.
While some maintenance elements—like cart paths and yardage markers—may come across as dated, Pine Creek remains a popular stop for golfers seeking honest layouts and straightforward challenges. The course's affordable pricing and approachable setup make it an accessible destination for those looking to hone their game in a natural setting south of Jackson.
Those planning a visit should bring cash for payment, wear sturdy shoes suited to the modest hills, and arrive prepared for a peaceful, no-frills round of golf with quiet woodland vistas framing each hole.
Course Highlights
The course features fast, domed greens that reward precision putting and strategy over length. Rolling fairways are framed by native pines and hardwoods that shape the course's moderate elevation changes. Pine Creek’s layout encourages a thoughtful pace and offers natural beauty without ornate landscaping, reflecting a solid golf challenge suitable for all skill levels.

Very terrible golf course for the price, 30$ for 9 holes talk about a rip off, the t-box on hole three is like I’m taking a trip to the beach and throwing some turf to hit off doesn’t help, I have people blasting music while I’m trying to T off just very bad golf etiquette, for the price they charge the just need to shut down and rebuild.

The reviews doesn't do this place any justice. First of all, the staff was very friendly. The golf course itself was very well kept, greens were in great shape, and the natural beauty of the area will keep my son and I coming back on the regular. Did I mention the value, what a hidden gem.

My first time playing this course. Friendly staff. Great price, but bring cash (there is an ATM in the clubhouse). Most of the greens are domed; all are fast. Hills. Yardage markers are fairway disks that are hard to find (posts would be better, IMHO). All-in-all a great course to play; challenging for casual players.

You're getting what you pay for here. Cheap on weekdays in a area where a good golf course is scarce. Make sure and pay attention to the group behind you while teeing off because the tee boxes and greens are very close together. Fairways are fair and greens are inconsistent. Some greens can have large sandy spots and others are pristine on any given day. Cart paths need to be redone but Pine Creek has a "never cart path only" rule. CASH ONLY. Never use the range because the balls are like bricks.
