Park Mammoth Golf Club

Park City, Kentucky, USACentral Kentucky

Park Mammoth Golf Club presents a compelling 18-hole experience framed by Kentucky’s rolling hills and bold elevation changes. Its natural terrain and strategic challenges deliver an engaging round for players seeking a scenic yet demanding outing in Central Kentucky.

Course Overview

Park Mammoth Golf Club offers an outstanding 18-hole layout shaped by the rolling hills of Central Kentucky. This public course stretches over 7,000 yards from the back tees, positioned to engage players with a full range of shot-making demands. The routing flows naturally with the terrain, affording dramatic elevation changes that create visually striking tee shots and approach shots that require thought and precision. Unlike many hilltop courses, Park Mammoth relies on its topography rather than water hazards, using native fescue and strategic bunkering to define its challenges and punish errant shots.

The design encourages a balanced game; wide fairways invite confident drives while complex greens demand careful putting. Golfers will find that the greens are both subtle and bold in their undulations, rewarding precise reads and firm touch with birdie opportunities or penalizing misreads with three-putts. The course is approachable for mid to low handicappers but remains inviting for beginners seeking a scenic and rewarding experience.

Set against the backdrop of Kentucky’s natural woodland and open vistas, Park Mammoth presents a vivid encounter with the landscape. The absence of water elements directs focus to contour and elevation, requiring players to carefully navigate the fescue rough, which can act as a formidable defender of par.

Amenities enhance every round here: a new clubhouse offers modern comforts, while a driving range and practice areas allow for thorough warm-up. The staff's reputation for friendliness and attentiveness elevates the experience, making it a welcoming destination for visitors and locals alike. Efforts to maintain course conditions throughout the season ensure that fairways and greens remain in excellent shape, even as the native rough fluctuates naturally.

Walking is encouraged, with paths and terrain friendly to players on foot. Sturdy footwear is advisable to handle occasional slopes and uneven ground. Park Mammoth Golf Club has swiftly become a must-play venue in Kentucky, combining genuine golf challenges with breathtaking scenery and a genuine hospitality spirit.

Course Highlights

The course showcases impressive elevation changes that shape memorable tee shots and approach plays. Native fescue rough serves as a distinctive hazard, often as challenging as traditional water features. The green complexes offer a combination of subtle breaks and pronounced contours demanding strategic putting. The new clubhouse enhances visitor comfort, while the friendly staff provides attentive service. Park Mammoth is well-regarded for its excellent course conditions and balance of accessibility and competitive challenge.

I have been in love with Park Mammoth ever since the first tee time on Opening Day, and it’s been a phenomenal host site to almost ten of The High Cotton Club’s events — including four editions of The Extinction, our No Laying Up Nest Invitational Tournament qualifier. Year after year, folks travel from both coasts to Central Kentucky to enjoy the facility that Mr. Chandler added to our local golf landscape. Austin Hines, Jacob Thompson, and their crew are among the best in the business and keep the golf course in the best possible shape given whatever hand they are dealt by Mother Nature. Marc Eubanks, the new GM, is one of the most genuine people I have met in my more than decade of golf industry experience, and is poised to take Park Mammoth to new heights. Park Mammoth is everything you want in a venue, and I can’t wait to see them continue to dial in their operation.

What a fantastic course! I had this place recommended by some local Golf pros, and I wasn't let down. Wide open and well-kept greens along with very helpful staff. Definitely worth a trip to see this place and play eighteen. Driving range and bulls are also included with your purchase for a helpful warm up.

Love this course! Always a great time! Only play at PM once a year as part of the High Cotton Club tournament but it's always a great experience. Staff and GM are top notch! First time seeing the new clubhouse and it's awesome. Great views of the course. The pavilion is perfect for group events. Look forward to going back in the future!

What an incredible golf course. I love that the whole course is visible from so many high points and the routing just works so well with the land. The awesome green complexes here have both subtle and not-so-subtle elements to thrill and delight once the ball is on the ground. Park Mammoth has almost no water hazards to speak of, but beware the high native fescue! It can sometimes be just as penal as a pond in that same area! Love the new clubhouse, and the staff are always friendly and accommodating. A clean sweat towel on the carts for each player is a really nice touch to elevate the experience, as well. For the last 3 years running, I’ve driven from four hours away to play the Extinction golf tournament here at Park Mammoth, and I’ve not once been disappointed! This place is a must-visit from anywhere within a day’s drive, maybe further!

I come down from the northeast every year to play in an event here put on by The High Cotton Club and the course is so fun to play. The grounds crew does an excellent job of keeping it in phenomenal shape. It’s a bit of a ride from Nashville but definitely worth making the trip out from there if you’re looking to play some golf while visiting.
