Course Overview

Stagg Hill Golf Club, located just outside Manhattan, Kansas, offers an 18-hole challenge rich in mature trees and thoughtful design that demands both precision and strategic thinking. Established as a private course, it delivers a classic parkland layout where towering oaks and maples frame every fairway, shaping the rhythm of your round with sweeping doglegs and well-placed hazards. The course’s setting is distinctly Midwestern, with gently rolling terrain that requires steady shot-making and careful navigation through its often narrow corridors.

From the first tee, golfers encounter a test balanced between natural beauty and demanding playability. The greens at Stagg Hill are known for maintaining a brisk pace, encouraging an attentive putting stroke that can influence overall scoring significantly. Players will appreciate the way the course rewards accuracy off the tee, especially where tree lines pinch the fairways and approach shots must thread carefully onto undulating greens.

Though it presents a firm challenge for low handicappers, Stagg Hill remains approachable for intermediate players aiming to sharpen their all-around game. The course’s condition reflects a commitment to quality, with well-manicured fairways and well-tended bunkers that guard key scoring areas rather than punishing every errant shot. The compact layout encourages a quicker pace, making it a convenient option for players eager to move steadily through 18 holes without feeling rushed.

While the club is private with a members-only policy, those invited can enjoy amenities typical of an established country club, including a comfortable clubhouse and attentive staff. Walking the course is welcomed and recommended, with smooth cart paths and terrain that is manageable for most players choosing to experience the course on foot.

For golfers coming to challenge themselves amid a mix of tradition and natural Midwestern charm, Stagg Hill Golf Club offers a solid test where careful planning and shot selection reward the prepared. Whether navigating the strategic doglegs or reading the quick greens, the course demands a thoughtful approach on every hole, promising an engaging round that balances exacting conditions with a genuine sense of place.

Paid 4 Grand to buy a golf cart, in order to not pay golf cart fees. Stag Hill charges you EXTRA to bring your own golf cart. What kind of crap is that? U would think bringing your own cart and not wearing out their carts would make your golf fees cheaper. Not with this place.

Driving range on a warm November day can't beat it! Any day you're at a golf course instead of being at work is a good day!

Spoke at a meeting at the Stagg Hill Golf Club . The Manager, Chad, was presenting his tournament for an organization and had the entire group organized and ready on time and lined up well. He is very thorough in preparation. Course was in great shape and looked amazing despite some dry weather recently. Well done!

Being an older course we weren't sure what to expect when playing here for the first time but I'm glad we stopped. Course is pretty challenging with lots of large trees around. Course was in great shape when we played and pace was quicker than average. Course is laid out nice with lots of dogleg holes.
