Cascades Golf Course

Bloomington, Indiana, USACentral Indiana

Cascades Golf Course offers three distinct 9-hole layouts—Pine, Ridge, and Quarry—each providing unique challenges and scenery. This public course suits players seeking variety, well-maintained greens, and a friendly atmosphere just outside Bloomington.

Course Overview

Cascades Golf Course in Bloomington, Indiana provides an engaging blend of variety and challenge across its three distinct 9-hole layouts: Pine, Ridge, and Quarry. Each nine offers a unique character, inviting players to tailor their experience with combinations that adjust difficulty and scenery. The Pine course features gently rolling fairways lined with mature trees providing strategic shot-shaping opportunities. Ridge presents more elevation changes and tighter corridors, testing accuracy and course management as the terrain shifts underfoot. Quarry, the most dramatic of the three, takes players through rugged landscapes shaped by former limestone quarries, adding a raw, natural edge and visual intrigue.

This public course welcomes golfers of all skill levels. Fairway widths and thoughtfully placed hazards create an approachable environment for beginners, while undulating greens and subtle elevation shifts reward precision and creativity for low handicappers. The conditioning is well maintained year-round, with particular care taken to keep putting surfaces smooth and consistent. Bunkers are strategically positioned to challenge approach shots without penalizing overly harshly.

Located at 3550 N Kinser Pike, Cascades offers a full range of amenities including a driving range for warmup or practice, a well-stocked pro shop, and casual concession options. The atmosphere prioritizes a friendly and accessible golfing experience, supported by attentive staff ready to assist. Walkers will find reasonable footing throughout the course, though some elevation and natural rough demand comfortable footwear.

The diversity of terrain combined with the three distinct nines allows golfers to create a custom round that fits their mood or time availability. Despite occasional heavy rain impacting certain areas, Cascades consistently recovers well and remains a favored destination for local players and visitors alike. Whether testing your shot-making on Ridge’s demanding holes or enjoying the laid-back flow of Pine, Cascades Golf Course offers a balanced and enjoyable play through Indiana’s lush, varied landscape.

Says you need a set of your own clubs which we have but we share a bag. What they should say is need your own bags. Unbelievably rude about it as well. On top of it they had five groups going at the same course so we had to wait half an hour to tee off from our specific time. When we requested a refund they would not provide it, only offered a raincheck. Why would we want a raincheck to play at a course that behaved this way. Was told other courses do this, which we have gone to other courses within an hour of here that do not.

2020.8.16. Really nice layout.. fairway grass is pretty hard though... course can use some work to cut the green shorter and press it harder, and tee box could use some improvement too... Overall, a very nice public course and would like to come back to play again... We played Quarry and Ridge, and would like to tryout the Pine course as well.

This was another first time playing this course. From the moment you get there to the time you leave it's a great experience! They have three different nines. Pine, Ridge & Quarry. I was able to play the Pine/Ridge courses. Checked in at the pro shop which is well stocked and organized. The staff members were great. Very friendly and helpful. Showed me exactly where to go for the two courses. The courses are in great shape with the exception of a few spots on some of the greens and the random tee box roughness. The rough is definitely not where you want to be. Plenty of trees to contend with and elevation changes to challenge you. The greens are in great shape and fast when I was there. If I am being honest, the pace of play was a little on the slow side. As a single I was able to play through a couple of groups with no problem. The Ridge course was cart path only due to the amount of rain they had in the area. They have practice greens and a driving range. Overall I loved the course and will definitely go back to play the Quarry course.

Came from out of town with family who didn’t have their clubs with them. Got to the first hole and pro shop gent zoomed over to accuse one of our golfers of lying to him and that he “hates people that lie” because all the carts weren’t full of clubs. Then got a slap on the wrist at the second to last hole by another worker. Felt like we were being followed around at a course that’s cheap but trying to hard to be PGA. Awkward golfing experience. Course itself was mid, 4 out of 10. Crusty.

I was visiting family and we had an hour or so to kill before leaving for the airport and I had the idea to hit range balls together. The staff was so kind and accommodating, knowing we didn’t have our sticks on us so they generously lent us several drivers, even one for the lefty in the group. Thank you so much for allowing us to Walz in while not having on proper golf attire for an hour on the range. Our family felt it was time very well spent together! Thanks again!

Absolutely love this course. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Pricing is appropriate to comparable courses this size and offering. The course is gorgeous, always looking healthy with greens in great condition and placement. Three separate 9 hole courses offering various play through for individuality on the same course. Range, carts, pro shop golf items with some food (hot dog, hamburger, ham and cheese, concession snacks and drinks) offered.
