Course Overview

Morro Bay Golf Course offers a distinctive 18-hole layout that challenges players amid sweeping coastal views and rolling hills. This public municipal course, located just off the Pacific shoreline in Morro Bay, California, delivers a blend of natural beauty and approachable play that suits a wide range of golfers. The undulating terrain demands thoughtful club selection, especially as many putts subtly break toward the ocean, adding an extra layer of complexity across the well-maintained greens.

The course winds through a landscape shaped by gentle rises and dips, with panoramic vistas revealing the iconic Morro Rock and the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean. Fantastic course. Greens are well kept and course staff including the marshal were just incredible hospitable and courteous. The views are just magnificent! My favorite view is hole #9 where you oversee the beautiful greens and the ocean in this magnificent picture … all while playing golf. I would come back here just for the views, but I love golf too much. I can wait to come back here. I would definitely recommend this place to all my family and friends

What an amazing public course. Reminds me of Pebble Beach only much less expensive.

Historically I've always given this place of 5-star review. Course was in relatively good shape the greens were ridiculous though. The pin positions were tough even for good golfers. This weekend played unusually slow though. 5 1/2 hour rounds are unacceptable. Outside of that the important stuff like the staff are nice people the restaurant is really good everybody hustles. Looking forward to going back

It's a very hill ocean view municipal course. All putts break towards the ocean. Friendly staff, limited parking and reasonably priced. We played Easter 2024 and it was very cold all day. Cold wet air means the ball does not travel very far.

Amazing public course. Beautiful fairways and greens. Very forgiving course. Beautiful views on pretty much every hole. Fairways are like lush carpet. Greens were fun! Only downside… the flow of play can get jam packed and slow. It boils down to golf etiquette and unfortunately, not too many folks golfing these days even know what that is. However, bottom line, it was a great course and I wish I could play it every day!! Big thanks to the crew who maintain the grounds, beautiful job 🤙🙏⛳️

Very nice course. Well maintained and surprisingly reasonable compared to some of the nearby courses. Just visted on a holiday weekend and was still under $100 with a cart.
