Dragonfly Golf Club
Dragonfly Golf Club in Madera, CA, presents a challenging yet approachable 18-hole public course framed by mature trees and water features. Known for its varied tee options, rapid greens, and excellent practice facilities, the course appeals to golfers of all levels looking for a blend of nature and carefully maintained playability.
Course Overview
Located in Madera, California, Dragonfly Golf Club offers a vibrant 18-hole public layout that challenges players while embracing the natural beauty of the Central Valley. The course is a blend of traditional parkland design with subtle strategic elements that test shot-making from every angle. Its mature trees provide shade on sunny days, while water features introduce reflective surfaces that not only shape play but also support local wildlife, including frequent glimpses of ducks and other birds.
Stretching over 7,000 yards with a par of 72, Dragonfly accommodates a broad range of players. The longer back tees challenge low handicaps with demanding distances and well-guarded greens, while forward tees create fairer angles and manageable carry distances for higher handicaps and recreational rounds. Fairways often angle away from each other, allowing players to experience a sense of seclusion on the course without the distraction of parallel holes.
One of Dragonfly’s compelling traits is its signature dragonfly emblem on tee boxes, lending a distinctive character and a subtle nod to the course’s identity. Greens vary in speed but generally maintain a rapid pace, rewarding precision and touch. Bunkers and water come into play selectively, demanding thoughtful shot placement rather than forcing penal outcomes.
The club’s well-regarded practice facilities include a covered driving range with natural grass tees and access to professional instruction and custom club fitting. Food and beverage delivery directly to carts enhance the on-course experience, adding convenience and comfort during play. The course draws favorable reviews for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and well-maintained conditions throughout the year, although recent seasonal maintenance can affect green speed and firmness.
For golfers planning a visit, light clothing and sturdy shoes are recommended during warmer months, as afternoon temperatures can rise considerably. Twilight rates offer great value for later rounds, making Dragonfly Golf Club an accessible and rewarding destination for both serious golfers and those seeking a relaxed, nature-rich day on the links.
Course Highlights
Distinctive dragonfly emblems mark the tee boxes, blending identity and style. The course’s separation of fairways allows for a private feel on each hole. Combined with a well-maintained practice range with grass tees and professional fitting services, Dragonfly offers an experience that balances challenge with approachability across its diverse yardages and water-influenced holes.

Amazing golf course and beautiful greens. We drive up from Visalia and it did not disappoint. Not a single hole ran parallel to another, making you feel in touch with nature, not other golfers around you. Greens and fairways were well kept. Tee boxes have this very unique dragonfly emblem to give that special touch. Staff were incredibly friendly for being my first time here. Gift shop had everything you needed for a great game. Oh yeah, and this place sells the best hotdog and fries that any golf course I’ve ever been too. I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends specially at the $49 twilight price (after 4pm)

Really like this course but I haven't played it in a while. When booking online there should be a disclaimer that they just plugged the greens on September 28th. 2 of my 3 players drove almost 2 hrs to play here and the greens were disappointing. I wish I hadn't talked up the course to them as much as I did.

Very intersting Way Back Tee - 8082 Yard Can not find fairway sometimes - 250 Par 3 / 180 Par 3 is Shortest. Must Play or nice to Play. 42 Cel Degree in Summer / Spicy Wearher in Fresno.

This is one of the best public courses and practice centers in the Fresno area. Covered driving range...and you still hit off grass. Lots of professionals to get lessons and club fitting. The course is in great shape, greens are wicked fast, fairways are dormant during winter months but otherwise green and playable, and the water on the course looks great. This is a really well maintained course.
