Eagle Springs Golf & Country Club

Friant, California, USACentral California

Eagle Springs Golf & Country Club combines challenging elevation changes with scenic foothill surroundings to create a demanding yet rewarding 18-hole course. Offering a blend of parkland and mountain elements, it appeals to golfers who appreciate strategy and natural beauty in equal measure.

Course Overview

Eagle Springs Golf & Country Club offers a compelling blend of challenge and natural beauty that sets it apart in the Friant, California golf landscape. This 18-hole championship layout stretches across varied terrain, with significant elevation changes shaping both the strategy and scenery. The course demands thoughtful club selection and precise shot-making as golfers navigate fairways that slope and undulate against a backdrop of rugged foothills and distant valley views.

Arriving at Eagle Springs, players will notice its parkland-meets-mountain atmosphere. Trees frame generous fairways on some holes, while others open up to expose the course’s sculpted bunkers and well-guarded greens. The back nine is particularly memorable for its rolling topography, offering panoramic vistas that punctuate the round and invite reflection between shots.

Playability at Eagle Springs leans toward the moderate to advanced golfer. Challenges arise not only from the length—total yardage exceeds 7,000 yards—but also from the complexities of the greens, which are known to be quick and subtle in their breaks. Walkers should come prepared for a physically demanding round as distances between holes can be long and elevation shifts significant, requiring sturdy footwear and moderate fitness.

While carts are available, the absence of a beverage cart means players often bring their own hydration or rely on the clubhouse for breaks. The club maintains a traditional dress code, emphasizing collared shirts and prohibiting denim, which underscores its membership’s dedication to maintaining the club’s character and standards.

Eagle Springs is a private facility and operates on a members-only basis, though guests may occasionally gain access via member sponsorship. The clubhouse serves as a comfortable hub offering dining and leisure facilities, creating a well-rounded experience for those spending a day or weekend here. Its adjacency to the Table Mountain Casino and hotel enhances the destination’s appeal as a golf and leisure retreat.

For players seeking a course that tests shotmaking skills across diverse elevations and rewards patience with its natural rhythm and commanding views, Eagle Springs Golf & Country Club provides an engaging and memorable outing amid California’s foothills.

Course Highlights

The course features prominent elevation shifts that influence shot selection and pace, especially on the back nine where panoramic valley views create a striking contrast to the tighter, tree-lined front nine. Its well-maintained putting surfaces demand attention to subtle breaks, while bunkers are strategically placed to protect key scoring areas. Proximity to Table Mountain Casino and hotel offers golfers extended leisure options.

First coarse in a while, not backed up. Made for a great round. It was a Monday so that could be why.

Very nice course but it really isn’t walkable unless you’re in superior condition. Very long distances between some holes. Moderately high difficulty. Greens are tough to read. It’s a bit on the spend side at $70 with a cart. Dress requirements for a collared shirt and no denim allowed.

Honestly, it would be a 5 star if they had a beverage cart to take care of you during your round. Other than that it was an amazing course!

Best course in the Fresno area in my opinion. Tons of elevation change and you can’t beat the views on the back 9. Also a really nice thing about this course is that it’s across from the new Table Mountain Casino and hotel. You can really make a day or weekend out of this place if you wanted. Just an idea!
