Yosemite Lakes Park Golf Course

Coarsegold, California, USACentral California

Yosemite Lakes Park Golf Course is a compact yet challenging 9-hole executive layout set among California’s oak country. Featuring five holes played over water and fast, undulating greens, it offers a strategic test in a welcoming environment with a popular on-site cafe.

Course Overview

Yosemite Lakes Park Golf Course presents an engaging 9-hole layout that challenges players with its strategic design and natural water hazards. Located in Coarsegold, California, this executive-style course stretches to a par 31, inviting golfers who appreciate a condensed but thoughtfully crafted round. The course appeals to a wide spectrum of players, including beginners seeking to build skills and experienced golfers craving a tactical test within a shorter timeframe.

The front nine commands attention immediately, featuring five holes played over water that demand careful shot placement and composure. Water hazards are more than aesthetic; they shape risk-reward decisions and dictate a smart approach off the tee. The greens stand out for their speed and subtle undulations, rewarding precise putting and punishing inattentiveness. This course calls for accuracy and strategy rather than sheer power, making it ideal for those refining their short game and course management.

Set against the backdrop of California’s oak-studded terrain, the course balances natural beauty with maintained fairways that run through pockets of native vegetation. The property offers a relaxed environment where golfers can focus on their game without distraction, complemented by a friendly atmosphere that welcomes visitors. The Fairway Cafe on site provides a pleasant spot for after-round dining, featuring outdoor seating that catches the warm California sun.

Playability here is framed by its executive format — shorter holes, including no par 5s, encourage speed and maneuvering over brute force. Seasonal conditions influence green speed, with spring and early summer rounds often displaying the course at its best. Walking the course is straightforward and recommended due to its manageable scale, though comfortable footwear is advised given the subtle elevation changes.

Yosemite Lakes Park Golf Course offers a perfect blend of serene setting and strategic golf, suitable for those who want to enjoy an engaging round without the demands of a full 18-hole course. It’s an excellent choice for practice, casual rounds, or a quick yet stimulating golf experience in Central California.

Course Highlights

This executive course features a signature stretch of five holes played over water that demands thoughtful club selection and shot execution. The greens are known for their speed and gentle breaks, providing a rewarding putting experience. While there are no par 5 holes, the par 3s and par 4s are designed with deceptive angles and elevated tees, adding layers of complexity uncommon to many short courses.

Great 9 hole course! Surprisingly a little challenging since there are a lot of water holes. We went in April and the greens were perfect and well maintained.

Love this track! Challenging for an executive 9 hole and frankly it will eat you alive if you aren't careful. As of Sep/2021 it's in pretty good shape albeit there are 3 greens that need attention. Go and enjoy!!

Great fun. Par 31. Short course with first 5 holes playing over water. No par 5's was a disappointment, but the short holes made for a lot of fun.. 9 hole course. Played different color tee boxes for 18. The fairway cafe is also delicious, and offers outdoor dining.

What a beautiful course. Booked online, showed up and they had everything ready to go. Very organized and low key, no pressure. First shot is over the pond so bring your tee shot A game. Greens are very well kept and fast with lots of undulations. Lots of deceiving Par 3s and a few Par 4s. I’m a fairly new golfer and this was the perfect challenge.
