Apple Mountain Golf Resort

Camino, California, USACentral California

Apple Mountain Golf Resort presents an engaging 18-hole challenge with rolling hills, narrow fairways, and greens perched on natural elevations. Located in Camino, CA, this public course invites golfers to navigate its demanding terrain and enjoy panoramic views of surrounding apple orchards and foothills.

Course Overview

Apple Mountain Golf Resort in Camino, California, offers a distinctive test of golf framed by the region’s quiet apple orchards and rolling Sierra Foothills terrain. This 18-hole, public course is anything but typical; it challenges players with a rugged layout that climbs and dips along natural contours. From elevated tees, golfers confront a variety of uphill and downhill shots where maintaining control is crucial. The undulating fairways rarely reward anything less than precise ball striking, as the landscape slopes away beneath feet and demands constant adjustments in stance and swing plane.

The course’s setting is both visually striking and physically demanding. Mature trees flank narrow corridors that punish wayward shots, while large, complex greens sit atop hillocks or in protected hollows, inviting players to engage their full arsenal of shot-making skills. Apple Mountain rewards those ready to embrace its challenges with a strong sense of accomplishment and views that stretch across farmland toward distant peaks.

Players should come prepared for varied lies, as the natural topography often leaves uneven stances on fairways. Strategic club selection and patience are essential. The greens are known for their subtle breaks and speed, requiring close attention to reading putts. Despite its difficulty, the course remains accessible to golfers with intermediate abilities who want to build confidence and test precision under pressure.

Beyond the course itself, Apple Mountain offers facilities that enhance the experience, including a driving range, well-maintained putting and chipping areas, and a friendly, attentive staff eager to assist. The clubhouse provides a casual atmosphere where players can relax after their round among fellow golfers.

For anyone traveling through Central California looking for a golf venue that blends natural ruggedness with thoughtful design, Apple Mountain delivers a memorable round with practical challenges and scenic rewards. It invites players to come prepared with extra golf balls and an appetite for a course that demands focus but offers genuine satisfaction upon completion.

Course Highlights

Significant elevation changes create challenging uphill and downhill lies. Fairways are narrow and lined with mature trees, demanding accuracy off the tee. Greens exhibit subtle undulations and speed variations, rewarding careful reading. The setting among apple orchards offers peaceful vistas that contrast with the course’s demanding play. Practice facilities include a driving range and dedicated short game areas.

Just wow! One of the most beautiful courses I’ve ever been to. Apple Mountain is surrounded by Apple farms as well. A great place to drop off your husband to play golf while you and the family go to the Apple farms and eat yummy treats all day!The course was challenging, beautiful, and so fun! Highly recommend!

Apple Mountain is an amazing golf experience. The staff is courteous and helpful. The course itself has great views. The layout is challenging. The course supplies a "cheat sheet" giving yardage to landing areas and targets on elevated fairways and greens that have a blind shot. The greens were receptive, but the fastest that I have ever played on. The pace of play is dependent on you, the player. My group played in just over 4 1/2 hours. Would definitely play this course again.

Its a pretty course that is maintained very well for how many hills it has. Cooler temps of the foothills makes it a good spot to escape the triple digits of the valley.

An amazing beautiful golf course. Definitely has its challenges throughout the 18 holes, but who doesn't like a good challenge. I definitely recommend you experience playing golf here. You won't be disappointed. Also, bring plenty of extra golf balls ⛳️ 🤣

Amazing golf course and supportive, friendly staff. This course is fun, and challenging. Course is filled with rolling hills, some of which are pretty steep. Most fairway lies are not flat due to the natural lay of the topography. The greens… oh man, lots of undulations but super fun! This course is not that forgiving but its a blast to play. The fairways and greens are very well kept. For the price, you cant beat it. Hands down the most beautiful course Ive played in awhile. Its really great that there is also a driving range, a putting green and a nice chipping green. 👌

One of the most challenging courses I’ve ever played. The holes are all laced between trees so no room for mistakes. You will the ball uphill, down hill have the ball in fairway but be hitting the ball 6 inches below your feet or above your feet. On the note of most balls. You better bring a lot of them. This is tough, so if you aren’t used to consistently nailing a narrow fairway. Bring 3 x the balls you think you might need. I would go back here again.
