Pine Hills Golf Course

Mountain View, Arkansas, USACentral Arkansas

Pine Hills Golf Course in Mountain View is a welcoming 9-hole public layout that balances forgiving fairways with challenging greens. Ideal for beginners and casual players, it offers a relaxed environment to develop skills amid natural Arkansas terrain.

Course Overview

Pine Hills Golf Course in Mountain View, Arkansas, offers an intimate and approachable 9-hole layout that welcomes golfers of varying experience levels to test their shot-making skills. The course occupies a modest footprint but stretches beyond typical short-course expectations by presenting a blend of straightforward fairways and pockets of natural challenge that keep each hole engaging. It plays as a public facility, emphasizing accessibility rather than prestige, which makes it a practical choice for players seeking a casual round in a relaxed setting.

Set against gentle rolling terrain, Pine Hills exudes a quiet charm that encourages focus and enjoyment without the fuss of manicured grandeur. Fairways tend to run straight and wide, providing generous landing areas for drives, though players will find the greens more demanding due to their uneven and somewhat rugged surface conditions. This texture creates subtle breaks that require careful reading, rewarding patience and precision on approach shots. The rough can be thick and resistant, demanding controlled ball-striking to avoid costly errors.

Though the course is compact in scale, it uses natural topography cleverly to introduce elevation changes and short strategic carries, which enliven play and encourage thoughtful club selection. The par-3 holes stand out as moments to dial in accuracy, with well-placed bunkers framing the greens and wind occasionally stirring, adding a variable that tests tempo and trajectory.

Facilities are simple yet accommodating. The clubhouse staff is generally welcoming, though golfers should come prepared with cash, as credit card transactions are not accepted. Walkers will find Pine Hills manageable, though sturdy shoes are advisable given grassy slopes and uneven ground. The course’s honest condition and straightforward design make it ideal for those in the early stages of their golf journey or anyone wanting a no-pressure environment to refine fundamentals.

While not a destination for championship play, Pine Hills offers a refreshing break from larger, more intense courses. It rewards players who appreciate authenticity and the chance to engage thoughtfully with every shot, all within a friendly community atmosphere in the heart of Mountain View.

Course Highlights

Pine Hills uses its natural rolling landscape to create subtle elevation changes and strategic shot opportunities on each hole. The wide fairways contrast with the uneven, somewhat rugged greens, demanding patience and skill on approaches. Par-3 holes are particularly notable for their bunker placements that challenge precise iron play.

Come here often because it’s the closest course around. definitely the cheapest course and it’s for a good reason. greens are worse than my backyard, fairways are alright, and the rough is rough. clubhouse staff is either the most friendly man in the world and the other complains about everything.

This is a very playable short course. The tee boxes need upkeep and the greens are a bit rough. The course fairways are straight, wide and fairly forgiving. The course has a few challenges that make it interesting and fun. I enjoyed my game and will return. It is a great place to work on your game.

Not an elegantly manicured country club course by any stretch, but a fun, challenging course for my wife and I who are both very new to the sport. Staff was helpful and polite. Be sure to bring cash as they do not take cards. Greens are pretty rough so be prepared!
