Prescott Golf Club

Prescott, Arizona, USACentral Arizona

Prescott Golf Club presents an 18-hole desert course that blends strategic challenges with approachable playability. Set amid native desert vegetation and gentle elevation shifts, it offers a distinctive golf experience close to town, welcoming a broad range of skill levels.

Course Overview

Prescott Golf Club offers a challenging yet inviting 18-hole layout that balances the rugged character of central Arizona with thoughtful design and natural desert elements. This semi-private course stretches across just over 6,000 yards and plays to a par of 72, providing an engaging test for golfers who appreciate strategic shot-making amid a setting defined by juniper, pine, and scrub oak. The terrain combines gentle elevation changes with stretches of native desert rough, requiring precise navigation around bunkers and well-placed hazards that challenge every club in the bag.

While not a traditional resort course, Prescott Golf Club invites players seeking an authentic Arizona golf experience without straying far from town. Its parkland-meets-desert style offers a contrast of green fairways framed by earthy tones, and it caters to a broad range of skill levels with tee boxes positioned to encourage both approachability for higher handicaps and challenge for more skilled players. Playability shines through the variety of holes that demand both careful course management and the occasional bold shot, especially when the afternoon breeze adds an unpredictable element to club selection.

The clubhouse serves as a central hub with a casual atmosphere that reflects the community feel of the course. After your round, the dining area commands attention with views that stretch over the course’s finishing holes, perfect for regrouping over lunch or a refreshing drink. Amenities here focus on comfort and service rather than luxury, emphasizing a straightforward golf experience.

Golfers should prepare for a course that, while showing signs of wear in places, remains a place to enjoy a round in Prescott’s unique climate. Walking is possible though some might prefer a cart due to the mix of elevation and desert terrain. Soft spikes or turf shoes are recommended to handle sandy soil and occasional bare patches. Early morning tee times provide cooler temperatures and softer greens, making those rounds especially satisfying.

Prescott Golf Club combines desert grit with a welcoming spirit, delivering a memorable day on the course for locals and visitors alike who want to engage with Arizona golf beyond the sprawling resort landscapes.

Course Highlights

The course features natural desert terrain combined with tree-lined fairways, creating an intriguing contrast uncommon in many Arizona layouts. Its approachability is balanced by strategic bunkering and native rough that tests accuracy. The par-4 7th hole stands out, demanding a precise tee shot and thoughtful placement to avoid desert hazards. The clubhouse offers panoramic views of the final holes, enhancing the social and dining experience.

Restaurant with a lack of dietary diversity. The salad was good but did not live up to what was promised for a vegan diet. The service was great and view spectacular. May return to enjoy a drink at the bar, but will not return to the restaurant. 🫤 There are definitely other restaurants in the area that truly offer dietary diversity 😀

Prescott Golf Club is my go-to course whenever I'm in town. After a rough experience at Antelope Hills (shoutout to the guy behind the counter for almost making my buddy quit golf for pickleball), PGC completely turned things around. The staff here is always welcoming, the people you get paired with are absolute gems, and the whole vibe is just top-tier. Every time I've played here it's been a great experience, and I was glad to finally bring my friend along to show him what real golf hospitality feels like. Thanks to Prescott Golf Club for making every Prescott trip a good one.

Great lunch, beautiful setting. Three different meals for the group. I'm happy to visit. I'm looking to start going Friday as well!

The course is in rough shape. Scraggly area and a lot of bare ground. Had a guy come out and talk to us about carts being half on half off path cause it causes bald spot. There is places there is no cart path but dirt only. Then they sent 3/4 staff folks home at 2 ( opened at 11) cause it was slow and we were just starting the back 9. Won’t play again cause it was a very rough course but to be also chastised for something lame? No worries

I’ll definitely never golf here again, the staff is very rude and the place has a very click ish vibe, the marshal was rushing us the entire time and sitting there with a timer on his phone at the tee box even though we were on the group in front of us asses and waiting on them saying he’s going to have to hold us back and let the group behind us go and blah blah cause they are “buddies” of his. It’s like they expect you to play 18 holes in 3 hrs, the course honestly isn’t that nice and they get mad when you pull off the cart path and yell saying “this is why we don’t have grass” place is a joke, I play course in Wa state during the late fall and mid summer that would shit on this place for the price. 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND.
