Antelope Hills Golf Course in Prescott features two 18-hole layouts blending desert terrain with accessible playability. The South Course welcomes mid-handicap golfers with open fairways, while the North Course offers a strategic test among mature trees and gentle elevation shifts.

Course Overview

Antelope Hills Golf Course in Prescott, Arizona, offers an inviting dual-course experience that caters to a broad spectrum of golfers. Comprising two 18-hole layouts—the North and South courses—this public facility strikes a thoughtful balance between challenge and playability. The South Course opens with generous fairways framed by gentle rolling terrain and desert flora, creating an approachable environment ideal for mid-handicap players and those seeking a relaxed round. In contrast, the North Course presents more strategic elements, tighter corridors lined with mature trees, and subtle elevation changes demanding precision and thoughtful shot selection, rewarding low handicappers and competitive golfers.

The surrounding high desert landscape lends its unique character to the courses, with warm sunlight filtering through sparse tree cover and panoramic views that invite you to pause between shots. The conditions regularly receive praise for their maintenance—the fairways are well-trimmed, the greens true and receptive, and the bunkers sharply defined. These elements combine to offer a smooth pace of play and dependable conditions in most seasons, with some adjustments advisable during the hotter summer months.

Antelope Hills supports its golfers with a clubhouse that provides a welcoming atmosphere, complete with practice facilities including a driving range and putting green. The staff are known for their attentiveness, ensuring a seamless experience from the pro shop to the course. Walking is encouraged for those who relish the natural rhythm of the game; paths are well-kept and the terrain manageable, though players should wear sturdy footwear to navigate both smooth fairways and sandy desert sections.

As a public course with two distinctive 18-hole layouts, Antelope Hills appeals to both newcomers eager to enjoy a scenic, forgiving round and to more experienced players drawn by subtle strategic challenges amid the Arizona landscape. The South Course makes a fine introduction to desert golf, while the North Course demands focus and shot accuracy. For those visiting Prescott, Antelope Hills stands as a versatile golfing destination where the desert’s quiet presence influences every hole, making each round an immersive test of both skill and patience.

Played the North course on the morning of 7/5 and it was in great shape! Greens we soft, fairways were mowed and the rough wasn't too long. Pace of play at 9:30 was 2 hours on the front (behind a group of 4) and 1.5 on the back(the group in front left after 9)

Held a venue seminar presentation for this week at the Centennial Center right off hole number 3 on the North course of Antelope Hills Golf Course. I got in the area the day before to check out drive times from the venue to the lodging I was staying at and figured I would play a little golf. James in the proshop was very helpful and nice. He accommodated me even though it was passed cart return time and let me walk the course in the late evening. Every year I attend the Tee Pee Open golf tournament at Antelope Hills, so when I heard my company was having troubles finding venue locations in the Prescott area, I immediately suggested the Centennial Center at Antelope Hills Golf Course. Great staff and team. This place is great condition and lovely traditional older North side with old trees and a South side, which is a little wider and more open for beginner golfers, but also beautifully manicured. Always a must stop for golf play when in the Prescott region. Price conducive and worth it's weight in gold!!!! 5 stars Antelope Hills!!!!

This golf course was not only in immaculate shape, it was really, really affordable. We played the North Course and it didn’t disappoint. Aside from that, Antelope went above and beyond to make my spouse and I comfortable with bringing our 7 month old baby. It was one of the best golfing experiences I’ve had in 25+ years. Thank you to the staff that were so kind and helpful and welcoming! Beautiful course as well!

Good course, great people, but unfortunately too busy and they don't give you coins or a self-operated machine to hit on the range. That would be very helpful.

First time ever playing Antelope Hills South and it was a truly fantastic experience. The course was nearly perfect. Wide open but still very fun with plenty of different shots to hit. The greens were so nice I decided to putt 38 times. The staff were amazing. I was particularly pleased with the diligent attention paid to our group by the ranger regarding our 4 hour pace of play. We were unaware this was not acceptable and so he gently encouraged us to speed it up and then escorted us for two holes, dutifully observing from behind his mirrored sunglasses like Boss Godfrey, to make sure we didn’t misunderstand him or get lost. A lesser ranger would have just stopped by, offered some useless pleasantry, asked if we were having fun or needed anything, or simply smiled and said nothing at all. We felt seen. Really good players would eat this place alive, but for struggling mid-handicappers like us it was just right. I think we’ll try the North course next time, as I hear it’s a little more challenging, but it will be tough to drive all the way to Prescott and not play this one again.
