Magnolia Grove Golf Course

Mobile, Alabama, USACentral Alabama

Magnolia Grove Golf Course features two distinct 18-hole courses that combine accessible playability with strategic challenges, set amid lush Southern landscapes. From the wide fairways of The Crossings to the precision-demanding layout of The Falls, this public course delivers a rewarding golf experience for players of all skill levels.

Course Overview

Magnolia Grove Golf Course, located just outside Mobile, Alabama, offers a compelling blend of Southern charm and challenging golf. This public facility features two distinct 18-hole layouts - The Crossings and The Falls - each thoughtfully designed to appeal to a broad spectrum of golfers from beginners seeking enjoyment to experienced players looking for a strategic test. Surrounded by lush greenery and mature pine stands, both courses convey a quietly confident sense of place, where natural topography shapes fairways and demands thoughtful shot-making.

The Crossings course presents wide, inviting fairways framed by towering trees and calm water hazards that reward accuracy without punishing errant play excessively. This layout offers ample room off the tee, making it approachable for less experienced players while still providing multiple risk-and-reward options for the more adventurous. The generous putting surfaces are well-maintained, creating enjoyable scoring opportunities alongside some subtle breaks that keep golfers alert.

By comparison, The Falls challenges players with tighter corridors and strategically placed bunkers, including dramatic sandy edges guarding several greens. Uneven lies and undulating greens require a measured approach, emphasizing precision over power. The course’s character emerges in those key moments where positioning into intricate pin placements demands focus amid the gentle breeze that sweeps through Mobile’s landscape.

Amenities at Magnolia Grove extend beyond the golf, featuring a clubhouse with quality dining options praised for their attentive service, as well as a well-stocked pro shop and comfortable practice areas. While golf carts equipped with GPS are available, walking is encouraged — the terrain is varied but manageable, with smooth pathways and friendly elevation changes.

Visiting Magnolia Grove means encountering two thoughtfully crafted courses that balance visual appeal with practical playability. Whether tackling the expansive fairways of The Crossings or navigating the strategic intricacies of The Falls, golfers will find an inviting environment that tests skill while rewarding good decisions. This course stands out for offering a well-rounded golf experience in the heart of Mobile’s sports scene, making it a worthy destination for travelers and locals alike.

This course is just over 2 hours away for me, but ever since playing there for the first time last August, it has become a regular trip for me and my golf buddies. Both courses are beautifully managed from the tees to the greens and are challenging but fun for all skill levels. The Falls course is my favorite.

We played both the Crossings and the Falls courses. We really enjoyed both courses. The crossings has more character. Both courses were in great shape. The restaurant food is very good, especially the breakfast sandwich.

I am from Myrtle Beach and decided to come down and play a couple RTJ golf courses. The Crossings and Falls were both great. The people are fantastic, specifically Daniel and Robert at the club drop. I play 200 rounds a year in Myrtle Beach at all the courses. These courses are awesome and I had a great time!!!! I was welcomed treated with respect and loved it. Now the courses. Crossings is definitely easier and more wide open. The conditions on both courses are GREAT!!! Easily as nice or nicer than many courses in Myrtle. The Falls is definitely tougher and requires more precise shots, but fair. The greens are tough as all of RTJ designed courses . They are tiered and the undulations are hard, but fair. Bunkers are everywhere, so even if it looks open you better be down the middle and there is plenty of room. Falls is definitely tougher on the greens. Both courses are awesome and definitely worth playing. Thank you for great courses and great hospitality. Peace!!!!
