We always come to the Moutain Brook Country Club for our annual St. Andrews Society's family brunch. The food is always superb. The staff was absolutely wonderful and very attentive. The chicken hash was beyond belief, the eggs perfect, the selection of food fantastic. We appreciate the hospitality and kind staff. We always feel welcome. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

A lovely haunt for the 1%. A colonial-style building with dark wood-paneled walls and lovely furniture, the club offers excellent dining and impeccable service. Parking is a bit distant and requires a walk if you fail to opt for the valet service, and one peculiarity: no cellular signal. I'm told that this is deliberate, to prevent patrons, particularly the younger ones, from "zoning out" on their devices while on the grounds. Be that as it may, it's an unwelcome inconvenience to be unable to receive or place an important call or message while at the club. There is a free house phone available in a (hidden) booth on the main floor, but these days, who remembers all their contacts' phone numbers?

I am canceling my membership based on my experience today. I was racially profiled immediately upon entry, the woman said this is a private club trying to force my fiancé and I to leave immediately, I was just trying to use the bathroom first before trying to plan my wedding with them as the location, then she had the audacity to ask me if we were there to work!!!! Now that's the true insult!! So she took us to the entry and advised me to use a gas station bathroom. I told her I don't do gas stations and I asked "so member's can't use the bathroom?" She then apologized and we then headed for the bathrooms, but the band was so loud it was killing me and I had to just stop for a second. I turn around and here she comes asking me my membership identification. I had enough at this point. I'm the Cybersecurity Specialist for all of Jefferson County. Mountain Brook Country Club will now go unprotected and be one less thing I have to do in my day. I need a serious apology after this today and changes in the Club! I didn't take out my government and membership identification because I hate having to go that route every damn time I encounter a racist incident anywhere in Birmingham, AL! Also being a resident of Mountain Brook, this just paints a truthfully bad picture of the entire area. Do better! Especially Kathy, your Event Planner! Who caused this issue today. Even the front door staff today looked at me like I don't belong based on my skin color. This is atrocious.

This is one of the elite places in the south. I would give it five stars but it is way above what I can afford. Quite a few of our customers go there. When I was a teenager I did some work there. Magnificent place. Not for the average working person. Definitely a step above.
