Wiki Wiki Course

Waimea, Hawaii, USABig Island

The Wiki Wiki Course in Waimea offers a concise, par-3 experience focused on short game development within a relaxed Hawaiian setting. Ideal for beginners and casual players, this compact 9-hole course challenges precision over power amidst scenic coastal breezes.

Course Overview

The Wiki Wiki Course presents an inviting, short-format golf experience set against the lush backdrop of Waimea, Hawaii. This 9-hole par-3 course offers a practical playground for honing short game skills, making it well-suited for beginners, families, and those seeking a casual round without the usual time commitment. Unlike traditional courses, hole lengths vary from a modest 44 yards to just over 130 yards, encouraging precision and delicate touch rather than power and endurance.

The layout is straightforward and compact, designed to fit comfortably into a quick practice session or a relaxed afternoon with friends. While only a couple of holes feature traditional greens, the remainder use well-maintained, low-cut turf circles that simulate putting surfaces and challenge control around the pin. This approachable design keeps golfers focused on fundamentals, while offering an accessible entry point for newcomers and a steady test for those sharpening their wedge play.

Surrounded by gentle Hawaiian foliage and with ocean breezes occasionally threading through the course, the setting offers moments of quiet charm and natural beauty. The driving range is conveniently situated just across the parking lot, allowing players to expand practice sessions to full swings after their short game focus.

Though the course plays as a walk-only venue given its compact size, visitors should prepare with comfortable shoes suitable for tropical terrain and variable footwear traction. Golf carts are not offered, keeping the pace brisk and the experience intimate. Rental clubs and balls are available, though players should be aware that these come at an additional cost separate from the green fee.

For those seeking a budget-friendly, skill-focused stop on the Big Island, Wiki Wiki Course balances simplicity and purpose. It encourages steady improvement in short irons and putting, all within a serene Hawaiian setting that strips golf to its essentials without sacrificing enjoyment.

Whether refining your touch or introducing new players to the game, Wiki Wiki Course offers an accessible, straightforward test of finesse in Waimea’s warm embrace.

Course Highlights

A short-format par-3 layout emphasizing short game skills over length; simple greens with a mix of traditional and low-cut turf surfaces; close proximity to a driving range across the parking lot for extended practice; natural Hawaiian coastal breezes influencing shot execution.

Great short course for beginners and families. Some of the approaches require some skill but still entry level. Be cautious of the pro shop policies!!! Terrible return and purchase policies. Told me purchases were required to play which were not, when I went to return items they told me they did not take returns! I probably would play there again but would not visit pro shop

I visited the Wiki Wiki course with my father-in-law a year ago and we had a blast! Great course for locking in your short game and reasonably priced for Ka'maainā (roughly $40) No cart provided for this course walking the course is essentially walikng the equivalent of 2 Holes tee box to green. Not sure if this is 100% true but I heard a few extra bucks gets you access to the driving range(located across the parking lot) Looking forward to my next visit!

Big disappointment. Ok course for a young player just learning, but save your money if your an adult. That $39 quickly turns into $60 by the time they make you buy a $5 ball and rent old beatup clubs for $15. (Very few people playing this course are going to have their own clubs or balls, so how about just including it?). Only or two "real" greens. The rest are low cut circles along side oF what used to be sides of a fairway. Of the 9. Most holes are only ~60 yds (one is 44, yes 44 yds).
