Lake Pleasant Golf Course
Lake Pleasant Golf Course delivers a woodland-style 18-hole challenge set among Adirondack foothills. Its forgiving fairways and thoughtful green complexes create a welcoming experience for golfers seeking nature-infused play that embraces both skill development and relaxed rounds.
Course Overview
Lake Pleasant Golf Course, located along the serene stretches of NY-8 in the Adirondack foothills, offers an engaging 18-hole layout that balances challenge with approachable playability. This public course extends an invitation to golfers of varying skill levels, featuring wide fairways that wind through natural woodlands and open clearings while providing notable views of the surrounding landscape. Its setting emphasizes a relaxed, walker-friendly atmosphere that complements the gentle elevation changes and the occasional water hazard, which work in concert to test both accuracy and strategy.
The course’s design reflects practical routing that enhances the natural contours of the land without overbearing architectural flourishes. Several holes demand thoughtful shot selection as players navigate bunkers guarding subtle greens, while others open up to reveal stretches that encourage confident drives. While not traditionally characterized as a mountain or links course, Lake Pleasant’s woodland style offers a refreshing alternative, with quiet pockets of wildlife often seen from the tee boxes and fairways.
Players should prepare for a course that rewards patience as well as creativity. The greens have a reputation for being soft and receptive, especially in spring and fall, but can slow down during peak season if maintenance is delayed. For those bringing carts, paths are well maintained; however, walking remains a popular choice, providing an intimate connection to the peaceful terrain and fresh Adirondack air.
Amenities emphasize practical convenience rather than luxury, with a clubhouse serving as a welcoming hub offering basic services, including a pro shop and beverage station. The course’s pricing is reasonable, with a focus on accessibility rather than exclusivity, though some players note conditions fluctuate according to seasonal demands. Overall, Lake Pleasant presents a solid day of golf framed by natural beauty and modest challenges that encourage repeat visits from families, novices, and seasoned players alike.
Course Highlights

Particular highlights include mid-range par-4s that reward precision off the tee and par-3s framed by trees that invite delicate iron shots.

Decent golf course. They only have different tees for four holes for your second nine if your playing 18. A bit pricey for the conditions I do understand location has a lot to do with both of those. It was 54 dollars for two to play nine in a cart.

Very nice views, lots of wildlife on the coarse, reasonable prices and walker friendly. Would've gave five stars but the greens needed mowing. They were very long and slow, but soft

Beautiful course but the guy in front of us openly told us he had COVID as he proceeded to walk by our cart. Then another guy told us we were too slow. Probs won’t come back.

Was pleasantly surprised. Staff was very friendly and inviting. Course was challenging but playable. Took our grandsons who had a ball. We are definitely going back.

I haven't gone golfing here, but this is an amazing place to look at the stars at night. I really suggest it on a clear night. I would have given it 5, but it tends to get really buggy.
