Majestic Peaks of Mount Massive Wilderness Area

The Mount Massive Wilderness Area, located near Leadville, Colorado, offers an impressive high-altitude retreat in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. Centered around Mount Massive itself—the second-highest peak in the contiguous United States at 14,421 feet—this vast wilderness spans rugged mountain terrain, alpine meadows, dense spruce and fir forests, and crystal-clear glacial streams.
