About Köprülü Canyon National Park

 

Located in the southwestern region of Turkey within Antalya Province, Köprülü Canyon National Park encompasses a dramatic gorge carved by the fast-flowing Köprü River. The canyon stretches more than 14 kilometers and is bordered by towering cliffs reaching up to 400 meters in height, creating a remarkable landscape of rugged rock formations and lush Mediterranean vegetation. The park’s ecosystem includes dense forests of pine, fir, cedar, and olive trees, supporting diverse wildlife such as wild goats, jackals, and various bird species.

Historically, the region is significant for its ancient Roman and Byzantine heritage, with several archaeological sites like the Roman Oluklu Bridge, carved cliff tombs, and ruins of the Selge city near the canyon’s entrance.
